We're Katie and Brett - the wife and husband team behind LensCaptivate. We created this platform as a way to document our travels and share our images from around the world on modern, museum-quality materials, hoping to both treat - and provoke - wanderlust.

We also aim to share both travel and technical tips that help set you up to explore different places and traditions around the world. Traveling has surely enriched our lives, and we hope our photographs inspire and capture a sense of adventure.

About Us

The proverbial travel bug bit us in our early twenties and we've been traveling together since! Together we've been to 32 countries, and we have a never-ending list of new places to experience. 

Katie is the perpetual wanderluster, creator and writer behind LensCaptivate. I'm always thinking about our next place to go and how to get there, or documenting our journey along the way in our worn leather-bound journals and coffee table photo books. From scanning Funk & Wagnall's encyclopedias (pre-internet days) to create bucket lists to collecting foreign currencies, from studying my Slovak grandmother's Old World recipes to launching "Save the Tigers" fundraisers in junior high, I've always been drawn to foreign places, cultures, and food. I've studied Russian, lived in Prague and Tbilisi, and would speak all of the languages in the world if I had one super power.   

Brett is the technical maven of LensCaptivate and the man behind the lens. A mechanical engineer by day and photographer by weekend, Brett knows the ins and outs of photography and camera gear, and stays on top of the latest and greatest practices in the industry. He's also the level-headed one who says it's not practical to fly from Nairobi to Copenhagen for a Scandinavian adventure after a long safari (author's note: these concerns were overridden), and has a gadget and cord for every function, which certainly comes in handy when traveling.

LensCaptivate is the product of many, many animated discussions over many, many years about wanting to share our love for traveling and engage with a community of like-minded wanderlusters. We hope you enjoy and find a picture that Captivates you!
